Today we started early with a gorgeous sunrise at Monkey Mia. While hubby was taking a shower, I got to see the first dolphins who were eagerly waiting to be fed. But it took too long for them, so they returned to the Indian Ocean and a new star showed up stealing the show: a big sea turtle.

After about an hour the dolphins did come back to pick up their breakfast. Incredibly smart and thoughtful animals they are they nudged the lady hosting the dolphin feeding experience in Monkey Mia until they received their treat.

After a morning coffee we hit the road for a 4 hour drive to Carnarvon, the largest part of this drive is just straight ahead, no turns no turn offs.

On the way we did stop at Hamelin pool which was hit badly by a cyclone in April 2021. The boardwalk was still closed in order for nature to recover. What makes this location special are the stromatolites which are the first forms of life on earth.
Late afternoon we arrived in Carnarvon, did some laundry, grocery shopping and took a long rest preparing for some exciting days coming up.
